Since Friday it's been raining pretty hard and now everything looks green! Not dying patches of grass with more dirt visible, but actual real grass. ^^ Actually this reminds me of something..the other day i was in my mum's car when the car stopped at the traffic lights and right in the middle of the road, the built -up part that has grass and tress growing, all the real grass was replaced with the synthetic lawn stuff. But the funny thing was that the edges had some random weeds growing from it and reminded me of how humans are constantly trying to make an artificial substitute to everything that is on the planet, but despite how hard we try mother nature always pushes us aside.
When the end of winter came i foolishly reflected that it would be nice and warm and probably not rain, having been forced to wear winter uniform for two terms i couldn't wait for the warmer weather that spring is associated with and wear summer uniform instead. If you are a school girl you can probably relate. Winter uniform takes ages to put on every morning compared to summer uniform which is just a dress and socks.
Even in close-to-waterless Melbourne, some areas have experience flooding!!! Five out of the ten water catchments in Victoria are now more than 50% full. With the upcoming fire season predicted to be worse than this year's black Saturday, thanks be to God for the rain. For the rain that fills up the catchments, for the rain which brings relief to the dry earth and the trees, for the rain which falls on your faces and washes the pain of the seemingly-endless drought.
